We’ve assumed, over and over, that we can bend, dam, and drain the Colorado River to our will. Every time — from the Salton Sea, to the folly of Lake Powell, to our present-day crisis — the river has disproved that assumption. From agricultural overuse, to lithium extraction and data centers, to the country’s largest reservoirs drying up, the water system that built the western United States is teetering on the brink of collapse. And right now, the Law of the River is being actively renegotiated. 2026–2030 may bring western water management’s most pivotal reckoning. Will this time be different? Will nature have a voice? What needs to change?

“AT THIS POINT IN TIME” is a feature documentary that follows the Colorado River through the most consequential transition in its modern history. Braiding together the negotiations shaping its future, the history that brought us here, and an immersive journey along its course, the film asks what it means to rethink our relationship with a river that has long been treated as a utility rather than a living system.

Over the last three years, our team at Good Intentions Paving Co. has met with scientists, water managers, Indigenous leaders, and river guides to understand the state of the Colorado and the restoration underway in Glen Canyon. After a yearlong tour and impact campaign with our short film, “WHAT THE RIVER KNOWS,” we’re finally getting back in the field to tell the full story of this pivotal moment.
